Extensions and Alterations to Dwelling, Tilford, Surrey
Planning consent was obtained for extensions and alterations to the dwelling in the Green Belt. The original dwelling had been extended in a piecemeal way over the years and our clients had explored other designs with other architects. Consent was granted initially for a replacement dwelling but for viability and sustainability reasons it was decided to re-apply for permission to extend and alter the dwelling. Our design sought to provide a 3 bedroom family home with well-proportioned and naturally lit spaces. The extensions and alterations were designed in a style sympathetic to the host dwelling through the use of materials and architectural details which matched the existing dwelling where appropriate and complimented the character of the surrounding area. The size of the extensions and alterations were maximised by offsetting the demolition of ancillary buildings.
